2 (2cm) Serpentine - Serpentine is a group of green stones found all over the world, everywhere from Canada to Greece to Korea to New Zealand. Historically, serpentine has frequently been confused with jade, but the chemical composition is actually quite distinct. Serpentines are relatively soft stones, and they are notable for their shiny green surface. This colouration is due to the presence of minerals including chromium and cobalt in the stone’s magnesium silicate base. Serpentine can range from translucent to opaque. As a general rule of thumb, a translucent stone will have a stronger effect on psychic phenomena, while a more opaque stone has a clearer effect on the measurable, material world, but the differentiation is rather minor. it is one of the most historically used stones for detecting evil and protecting against both bad luck and intentional malicious behaviour.
